What I Did This Summer

During my summer I went to Sailing Academy. It was challenging and fun. Sailing Academy was in San Diego, by the Navy base. I only went with one person from JROTC and it was my Co (Chief Officer). It was challenging because we had to break up into teams, and compete with other teams. The second reason, it was challenging was because we had to wake up in the morning, and exercise. The third reason, was that we had to study everyday for the test. It made it hard because we were tired after everything we did. On top of all of that we still had to go to class which made us sleepy, and if we were getting sleepy our commander would yell at us, and tell us to stand up. We competed with other teams in a boat race, but we came in second place, so we got a ribbon. Everyday at five in the morning we had to work our muscles, and our minds to wake up. For  test, we studied a lot so that we would be able to get out Sailing pins. Sailing Academy was fun because it was educational, I learned many things, and accomplished many goals by working hard.

The three events that have had the greatest impact are the Watts riots, crack epidemic, and Gang History.The positive things in South central Is that sometimes the community celebrates anything thats good.For example, Christmas Parade,activities around,and many other fun things to do.The negatives is that theres crime,gangs,and drugs around.Its not right to do this,people can learn whats bad and wrong in their community so they wont do it and end up like them.South central is not that bad,but if you get on their badside,they could do something to you.Pick your choice.

The first event that had a great impact on making South Central what it is today is the Watts Riots.Watts riots because back then everything was damaged and people didnt stop fighting,they just kept going until they win.I mean they had their reasons but it was bad what they did.many people were disapointed but i guess they thought rioting would help,to stop the racism.The event was a riot that many people were involved,34 people died and there were 40 million damges.The impact is that the rebuilt building,and everything chnaged where there were burned down liqour stores.South Central changed by being less dangerous and it became more known around L.A.

The second event that had a great impact on making South Central what it is today is the crack epidmic.In addition,this is a big impact because the CIA gave drugs o our/their own people.It wasnt right because they were put in jail for something that the CIA started.The event was that the drugs were increased in south central and many families were broken up for this kind of problem.The Cia had a meeting in Locke H.S about the crack epidemic,they had many reasons to be there for what theyve done.The impact that it have is that there isnt much drugs,i hope people know this and learn from what drugs can do to you.Well I dont think it hasnt changed in south Central,but now its a little less.

The third event that had a great impact on making south central what it is today is the Gang history.To start off,Gangs are bad,we all know that.But the main event is that whites had a deep gang called spook hunters,they beat up blacks for no reason and thats when the blacks started their gangs.They started their gangs to protect themselfs from whites.I dont think theres an impact because there are still gangs around,and young kids are involved.In Western and Imperial was when The Crips Were formed by a gang member who was tookie,I think.It hasnt changed in South Central at all,gangs are still around.I hope it changes, also the people that are involved in gangs to watch what theyre doing bad.Youll be known for what you/gangs did.

In Conclusion,These are the important events because most people dont know about this.People should realize,how this was brought up and who did this,so they wont try to do anything like this.For me , the most important one is the crack epidemic because most people dont know about it.
